The purpose of these dialogues is to create an understanding of dialogue, while building trust and understanding between event participants. The participants will comprise of community leaders, opinion makers, state representatives, citizen group leaders, and representatives of the private sector.
There are a number of subsequent follow-on meetings for each of these initial dialogue events to continue the process of building trust and understanding, while discussing and debating the issues introduced at the initial event.
Divisional dialogues have taken place in the four divisions in Fiji: Central, Eastern, Northern and Western Division. These dialogues have resulted in spin-off activities such as a series of land dialogues. Some dialogue participants have also organised themselves into dialogue groups to collaborate and address local issues.
