The Facilitator Training specifically covered facilitating Dialogues and other deliberative activities, Mediation and Negotiation. The difference between these different types of communication and conflict resolutions was covered as well as when they can be used. National governance processes can bring forth many conflicting ideas and issues in a country and Dialogue Fiji is aiming at equipping people with the means to help fix them.
Dialogue Fiji worked with Paulo Baleinakorodawa to come up with a 5-day workshop with the main aim of teaching facilitation skills to interested participants. Dialogue Fiji prioritized the symposium partners, retired teachers as well as those with the right qualifications but are unemployed. This was done in the hopes that Dialogue Fiji could hire these facilitators to help with future workshops and dialogues.
