Divisional Dialogues
The purpose of these dialogues is to create an understanding of dialogue, while building trust and understanding between event participants. The participants will comprise of community leaders, opinion makers, state representatives, citizen group leaders, representatives of the private sector.
There are a number of subsequent follow-on meetings for each of these initial dialogue events to continue the process of building trust and understanding, while discussing and debating the issues introduced at the initial event.
To date, divisional dialogues have taken place in the four divisions in Fiji : central, eastern, northern and western divisions and a national dialogue conference which included representatives from the four divisions and senior government representatives from the Prime Minister’s Office and Regional Development.
The divisional dialogues have resulted in spin-off activities such as a series of land dialogue organised by CCF.
Some dialogue participants have also organized themselves into dialogue groups to collaborate and address local issues.
