Our History Willie explaining the Dialogue Process in Labasa
In May 2008, a group of civil society leaders, academics and senior civil servants from Fiji attended a pan-pacific UN organised workshop on conflict resolution in Villa, Vanuatu. After the workshop this group, determined to take an active role in resolving Fiji’s problems, continued to meet periodically.
Dialogue Fiji is a movement of NGOs, and individuals committeed to peacebuidling and welcomes others to join the process through the Citizens' Assembly. Dialogue Fiji is directed by a committee receiving its mandate from an assembly of wider civil society, and managed through a secretariat. Since its establishment, the secretariat has been supported by the organisations and members of the Dialogue Fiji Committee as well as financial and technical support from the East-West Management Institute, Conciliation Resources and UNDP CPAD. Our VisionA Fiji where people respect each others’ differences, and share a common will to build a free, peaceful, and inclusive nation.
Our Mission Engage with others to build capacity in Fiji’s society to create inclusive spaces for dialogue and peace building.
